How do I register to vote?
You may register to vote online, by mail or in person at your County Supervisor of Elections office. You may also register to vote anytime you are applying for or renewing a Florida Drivers License, a Public Library Card, benefits at State public assistance agencies, services at agencies that provide services to disabled persons and Armed Forces Recruiting Offices. Voters must be registered at least 29 days before an election to vote in that election.
After completing a voter registration application, when will I receive my voter information card?
Normally, within 13 working days after the application is received by the Supervisor of Elections office. If there are any issues they will contact you or you can contact them for the status.
What happens if I do not make an entry in the party affiliation section of the application?
If you leave this section blank you will be registered with no party affiliation. Florida is a "closed primary state." If you wish to be eligible to vote in the Democratic or Republican primary elections in Florida, you must be registered with that political party.
If I am already registered to vote in Florida, how do I change my address?
A voter may change their address by using the Florida online voter registration application, by telephone, mail, or in person. If your new address is in the same County but a different precinct you will have a new polling place. You MUST change your address with the Supervisor of Elections office and they will provide a voter information card indicating the current precinct and polling place.
