Volunteer Opportunities
How Can I Help with Voter Registration Events?
To register voters, you must be a member of the League of Women Voters of Jacksonville/First Coast and certified by the League of Women Voters of Florida. If you are a member and would like more information about certification please email Dianne at
lwvjaxfcvote@gmail.com .
Our local League conducts Voter Registration at various venues in Duval, Nassau, Clay and St. Johns counties. The League facilitates Voter Registration in a variety of settings including on-site gatherings at schools, festivals, community meetings, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office. Once you are certified you will be eligible to sign up for Voter Registration events.
More Volunteer Opportunities
Quite often, our League needs volunteers to help with small tasks that are not time consuming but vital to our leadership and membership.
Would you like to conduct research on historic and cultural dates, events and information that could be shared on our social media, website or in our newsletter?
- Do you have an hour or two once a month to help us make phone calls to members about upcoming events?
- Would you be interested in attending a city council meeting or committee hearing once or twice a month online?
- Do you have time to listen in on state webinars or conference calls and provide feedback to the board?
- Do your skills match one of these items on our “to do” list?
- Creating awareness of Vote by Mail (VBM) and Census
- Promoting Medicaid Expansion
- Organizing Candidate Forums
- Coordinating Speakers Bureau to educate the public on amendments on the ballot
